Plein Air Painting Meets Wildlife by Miriam Brock

The adventure has begun even if the travel hasn't. A painting buddy and I decided we'd paint this clump of trees. The bare trunks against the blue sky and the challenge of many shades of green were the attraction for us.

Painting side by side, we were well into our sketches when we heard a loud crunch, crunch, crunch coming from the bushes. When the willows started waving, we both dove for our cameras. Too late! The cinnamon colored bear popped out of the bushes, took a look at us and made a U-turn back from whence he came. Neither of us got a photo.

No bear photo, but I did get the above 7 x 5 tree sketch. Mission accomplished.
